Exhibit B, Section 6(G) under Publisher Duties in the INDEPENDENT PUBLISHER FRANCHISE AGREEMENT.

Before the date, the sixth issue of the magazine for which Publisher is responsible is published, Publisher must hire a Publication Director to assist with items such as customer onboarding calls, ad list management, collections, appointments, and events (“Publication Director”). If a Publication Director ceases to be employed by the Publisher, the Publisher must hire a new Publication Director within 30 days after the Publisher’s former Publication Director’s employment ends.

Hiring a Publication Director: Publisher Guide for Conducting the Interview

  • The Culture Index Survey is linked in the LinkedIn Job Posting and the Candidate Interview Invite. Once candidates are narrowed to the top 3 candidates, Publishers can request the survey results by submitting a ticket to National Support.
  • Review Culture Index Survey results with a Franchise Operations Expert to assess which candidate results best align with the role and publisher:
    • A in front of B
    • Detail-oriented (D right of line)
    • Preferably autonomous (A right of line)
    • Preferred Patterns: Architect, Technical Expert, Scholar, Specialist, or Craftsman
    • An Administrator or Coordinator could work for a low-B publisher
    • Experience trumps all.
  • Send a rejection letter to the top runner-up candidates. Applicant Rejection Letter Template

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Send the Editor Agreement and NDA to the selected candidate.

Publication Director Agreement and NDA

  • Make a copy of the document
  • Make any desired changes to the employee agreement
    • DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO THE NDA/CONFIDENTIALITY TERMS
  • Click into any edit field
  • Select edit e-signature
  • Select Request e-signature
  • Enter your contact information for Signer 1
  • Enter Candidate's contact for Signer 2
  • The PDF will be emailed to both parties to complete
  • Signer 1 should fill in the fields before Signer 2
  • Once the candidate accepts and signs the documents, submit a New User Creation Form along with a copy of their signed agreement and NDA. Retain a copy for your records. 
    • After the New User Creation Form is submitted, notify National Support via a ticket that the form was submitted to initiate onboarding and training.
  • Training & Support
    • Publication Directors will receive the Content Training curriculum and training support.

    • Once training is complete, all further questions and concerns should be submitted via a National Support ticket in ARC.
  • Editor Termination
    • Submit a ticket to notify corporate of the termination of your Publication Director.
    • Publishers must provide the exact date for the removal of the former Publication Directors' ARC and Email Access.
    • All communications and payroll commitments related to the Publication Director’s departure are solely the responsibility of the Publisher.
