Ad Page Count Management
The magazine's page count is calculated by the total number of ad pages. The formula to calculate how many ad pages can be sold for a certain page count is: 50% of the page count plus 1.
Ex: For a 44-page magazine 50%+1 is 23.
- Any ad page count over 23 will bump the page count to the next available size.
- Editorial pages have nothing to do with ad pages or the size of the magazine.
Ex: If the ad page count was 22.50, making the total pages 44, but a full page ad is sold making the total ad pages 23.50 pages, the ad pages have now exceeded the maximum ad pages for a 44 page magazine, and will bump the total page count to 52 pages. The magazine total page count will fluctuate up and down in total pages depending on the range of ad page count.
Below is a table showing the page count and maximum ad pages using the equation.
