How to Enter Calendar of Events

Submitting monthly events in your publication area allows your readers to attend events during the month's issue. It also allows you to plug in events that advertisers are hosting if they are open to the community to spotlight for that month. The Events page spotlights local events happening for the month's issue, you can source the events from Google search as well.

  1. Under the editorial tab in Arc, select the issues tab and issue month that you are working on.
  2. Navigate to the content table and select the Events page
  3. Choose the number of pages to dedicate to the Events page
    1. The events page is automatically set to one page but can be decreased or increased, from 0-2 pages of events for each month.
  4. Click “Add” to enter a line item for each calendar event.
  5. Enter the title of the event
  6. Choose between a Standard or Custom entry.
    1. Standard should be used for an event that happens one time.
    2. Custom should be used for an event that happens multiple days throughout the month. Custom can accommodate a range of dates or sporadic days.
  7. Enter the date of the event.
    1. For Standard events, this will be the single date that the event takes place.
    2. For Custom events, this date selection will help determine the order it’s listed in the magazine. If a Custom event takes place “Every Thursday” and you want the event to appear at the top of the event calendar, then select the date as the 1st of the month to ensure it appears before the rest of the events.
  8. Enter the time of the event.
    1. For a Custom event, this line will appear as “Custom Text” and you will enter the multiple dates that the event occurs. List the numerical days for each date the event occurs (do not type out the month).
      1. For example, a range of dates would look like “4-7,” and for sporadic dates, it would be listed as “8, 12, 14” or “Every Tuesday,” “Mondays and Wednesdays,” etc.
      2. For custom events, the time and location address are entered under the description.
  9. Enter the location of the event. The location should be a generic location, like “Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts” or “Arrowhead Stadium.” Please enter the specific address if needed under the description section.
  10. Enter a Description of the event, there is a maximum word count.
  11. Hit Save, arc does not automatically save.
  12. If you are completed with the page you can navigate to another content page. Or continue to enter more events click “Add”.
