How to Enter a Cover


  1. Go to the Editorial section in ARC.
  2. Click on the Issues tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Content Table.
  4. Click on the “Cover” link.
  5. Click Choose File. This will open your computer’s file explorer in the photo downloads folder.
  6. Select the designated high-resolution cover photo (at least 2250px wide x 2700px high).
  • If the photo resolution is too small, a resolution alert will appear, and the photo will not upload.
  1. Click Open to upload your photo to the cover section in ARC.
  2. Once the photo is uploaded, use the dropdown menu to the right of the uploaded photo and select the cover style: Full Bleed or White Border.
  3. Use the Zoom Function below the photo to zoom in or out and adjust the photo’s placement.
  4. Click Save after adjusting.
  5. Wait a moment for the photo to reflect your saved changes.

Mock-Up Multiple Cover Options (Optional)

  • If you would like to upload additional cover photo options, repeat the upload process. Please keep the uploads under 5 photos.
  • In the Production Notes section, indicate your preferred cover photo if multiple options are uploaded.
  • If no preference is noted, the designer will choose for you.

Note: Cover photos can be changed during revisions but must be selected from the photos already uploaded. No new photos can be added after the editorial deadline.

Add Cover Teasers

  1. Start with the Main Teaser (e.g., a monthly theme like “Give Thanks” for a November issue).
  2. To add additional teasers:
    1. Click the Add button under Secondary Teasers.
    2. Include up to 4 additional teasers highlighting content inside the issue.
    3. Note: The text entered for the secondary teaser will also showcase the web category that was selected for those articles. Web category is entered each time you add an article. To edit the category before the editorial deadline date go to that article, select the web tab, and on the bottom please select from the drop-down menu the web category that will correspond to that article.
  3. Click Save to ensure your teasers are retained.

Leave Notes for the Designer

  • Use the Production Notes section to leave brief and clear instructions for the designer.
  • Ensure all requests align with content policies and editorial guidelines.
  • Please note if you would like a specific font style under the production notes. The cover can have the following font styles for the teasers:
    • Alternate Gothic
    • IvyPresto
    • Proxima Nova
    • Acumin Pro
    • Gimlet Display
    • Rhythm Two
    • Smoosh 1

Final Save

  • After uploading your photo, adding cover teasers, and leaving designer notes, click Save before leaving the cover section.
  • Unsaved changes will be lost.
