How to Navigate the Exclusions Tab

The Exclusions tab allows publishers to quickly and accurately remove residents who don’t wish to receive the magazine. Because we are a free publication - marketing mail - we are required to remove anyone who doesn’t want to receive our publication.


Steps:

  1. In ARC, open the menu on the left side and select the Distribution tab.
  2. Click on “Exclusion List” at the top of the page.
  3. Choose the magazine you want to manage from the dropdown on the left (if you have multiple titles).
  4. Find the Month/Year at the top center and select the correct month using the blue arrows.
    1. Exclusions can only be added for upcoming issues, be sure to submit any addresses before the ads deadline for the issue distribution needs to stop.
  5. Click Add Address on the top right.
  6. In the pop-up box, enter the address, city, state, and zip code exactly as shown on the mailing label.
  7. Click Save. A green confirmation box will appear if a match is found, excluding that address from future mailings.

Important Notes:

  • When adding an address to the exclusion list the system will only search  Residential Routes for the matching address. If it is not on the residential list, you will receive the Red Box alert and the address will continue to receive the magazine. Adjust the address or check the Additional Readers list for the address. 
  • Do not use this list for Additional Reader removals. For Additional Readers:
    • Go to the Additional Readers list.
    • Click the trash icon next to the reader’s name and confirm the deletion.
  • Inform the requester that removal may take up to 60 days due to production timelines, as labels for the next issue may already be finalized.

How to Navigate the Exclusions Tab in ARC

Learn how to effectively navigate the Exclusions Tab in ARC to manage exclusions and locations efficiently

1. Click "Distribution"

In ARC, click on the Distribution tab on the left hand side.
Click 'Distribution'

2. Click "Exclusion List"

Click on the Exclusion List tab at the top of the page.
Click 'Exclusion List'

3. Select Magazine

Choose the magazine you want to manage from the dropdown on the left.

4. Select Month/Year

Use the blue arrows next to the month and year to navigate to a different month. Here you will see a list of addresses that are being excluded from your distribution routes.

5. Click "Add Additional Reader"

To add an additional address, click Add Additional Reader in the top right corner.
Click 'Add Additional Reader'

6. Enter address EXACTLY as it is shown on the magazine label. Click Save

In the pop-up box, enter the address. It is important that you enter the address exactly as shown on the mailing label to ensure the correct address is removed. Once you click Save, a confirmation box will appear excluding that address from future mailings.

7. Click "Additional Readers"

It is important to note these addresses are already included in your distribution routes. To remove an Additional Reader, click on the Additional Readers tab.

8. Click trash icon to remove

Click the trash icon next to the reader’s name and confirm the deletion. You will want to Inform the requester that removal may take up to 60 days due to production timelines, as labels for the next issue may already be finalized.
