How to report and block spam calendar invites
Scammers are sending fake meeting invitations that show up on your Google Calendar. They look like a voicemail, an invoice, a subscription renewal or a request for a bid. They want you to click a link or call a phone number. Here's how to spot them and how to get rid of them.
How to spot a spam invite
- It's from someone you don't know, often an unfamiliar business or school address.
- The title is about a voicemail ("New Voicemail Notification", "You have 3 new voice messages"), a document to review or sign, or a bid or proposal.
- It's an invoice, receipt or renewal for a purchase you didn't make (Geek Squad, PayPal, McAfee, Norton, Avast and similar), with a phone number to call.
- The title has odd lettering, such as ᴜɴᴜꜱᴜᴀʟ ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ or symbols.
Don't click any links in the invite, don't call the phone number, and don't reply Yes, No or Maybe.
Report it as spam (computer)
- Open Google Calendar:
https://calendar.google.com - Click the spam event.
- At the top right of the event, click More actions (the three dots).

Report it as spam (iPhone or iPad)
- Open the Google Calendar app.
- Tap the spam event.
- At the top right, tap More, then Report as spam.

- At the top right of the event, click More options (the three dots).
- Click Block [sender name], then Block.
