Understanding the Advertising Reach

  1. In the ARC customer portal, navigate to the Ads Reporting Tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
  2. Once on the Ads Page, select the Advertising Reach tab, located in gray in the center of the page.
  3. If you run Social Media for more than one Publication, under Marketing Area located on the left side of the screen, use the drop down to select which publication you are wanting to view.
  4. It is recommended that reviewing the advertising analytics at least once a month to monitor overall campaign performance and engagement.
  5. On the upper right of the screen, you can filter data across different time periods., being able to switch between the last 7, 30, 90 days, or see an overall view.
  6. At the top you you will be able to see Total Impressions (total number of times a post or Ad is shown to users, regardless of whether it’s clicked or engaged with, Clicks (total number of times a post or Ad is clicked on), CTR (Click Through Rates - the percentage of people who clicked on a link, Ad, or post after seeing it.  It is calculated by dividing the number of clicks by the number of impressions), and Engagements (This breaks total engagements into reactions, comments, and shares, so you can see not just how many people engaged, but how).
  7. Impressions Over Time - Watch how impressions have built up across your selected window.  A flattening line usually means a campaign has ended or paused rather than lost reach.
  8. By clicking the “Enlarge” button under each individual Ad, will show how the Ad is performing.  Each card shows one of your Ads with its own impressions, CTR, and engagements for the period it ran.  Hover over the engagement bar to see the engagements by type.
